The program requires either a $1 million individual donation or a $2 million corporate donation on behalf of an employee, with eligibility linked to EB-1, EB-2, and NIW categories. Gold Card holders will benefit from expedited processing and priority visa issuance, while a corporate option allows transferable sponsorship. The White House emphasized that funds will support U.S. commerce and industry, framing the initiative as part of a broader strategy to realign immigration with national interests. The administration also previewed a proposed “Platinum Card”, requiring a $5 million contribution for partial U.S. residence, though it is only at the waitlist stage. While the Gold Card offers a fast-track alternative to EB-5 without job creation requirements, it is expected to face legal and political challenges, and both employers and individuals should watch for forthcoming regulations.
