USCIS Standardizes CSPA Age Calculation Using Final Action Dates Chart

This change ensures consistency between USCIS and the State Department in determining when a visa becomes available for the purposes of CSPA age calculation.

To protect those with existing applications, USCIS will continue applying the February 14, 2023 policy—for which visa availability could also be based on Dates for Filing—for adjustment of status applications pending before August 15, 2025, especially where applicants may have relied on the prior guidance. Additionally, USCIS reaffirmed that if applicants demonstrate extraordinary circumstances preventing them from filing during that earlier period, it will continue to use the 2023 age calculation method.
