Any application postmarked on or after August 21, 2025, without the correct fees will be rejected. Key changes include a $100 filing fee for asylum applications (Form I-589), a $100 Annual Asylum Fee for pending cases, and updated Employment Authorization (EAD) fees: $550 for initial applications and $275 for renewals. Other adjustments include a $250 fee for Special Immigrant Juvenile petitions (Form I-360) and an increase in the Temporary Protected Status (Form I-821) fee from $50 to $500.

These new fees are in addition to existing USCIS filing fees and cannot be waived or reduced. USCIS will issue notices for annual asylum payments and provide guidance on future years. Additionally, some EAD validity periods have changed, parolee and TPS work permits will now be limited to one year or the duration of status, whichever is shorter. More fee updates for other forms, including Form I-131 and Form I-102, will be announced later.
