The U.S. Department of State has issued a temporary final rule creating a $750 fee for expedited B-1/B-2 visitor visa interview appointments at selected U.S. consular posts. Under this rule, applicants who pay the fee may be able to secure an interview appointment within 10 business days, depending on availability at the specific post.
The rule is scheduled to remain in effect from July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026. Importantly, payment of this fee does not guarantee visa approval; it only relates to faster scheduling of the visa interview appointment.
