USCIS Considers "Anti-Americanism" in Immigration Adjudications

This update also expands social media vetting for applicants, reinforcing that U.S. immigration benefits are a privilege, not a right, and must be withheld from individuals who promote such view. These new guidelines are effective immediately for all requests pending or filed on or after August 19, 2025, and override any previous related policy. USCIS further emphasizes that compliance with immigration laws remains vital when determining whether a favorable discretionary decision is appropriate.
